Hello and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Tim Connelly CEO and President of San Diego Stone Care. I have been involved in, Trained by, and Instructing for the Stone, Tile, and Grout Industry since 1987 as a Stone and Ceramic Tile Installer, Technical and Sales Representative, as well as an Instructor for Custom Building Products and Several Tile Associations: TCNA, NTCA, San Diego TCA, CTIO. I am a Certified Technical Consultant (CTC), in addition, to being involved with the (MIA) Marble Institute of America and Better Business Bureau (BBB)

Many carpet cleaning and janitorial type companies are entering the “cleaning” part of the Stone, Tile and Grout care business. Many are quite knowledgeable with the materials they service; carpet, vinyl, linoleum, etc.
We at SD Stone Care are Natural Stone, Tile, and Grout Care Specialist.

We thoroughly understand the Materials and Methods. This is important for if a material is improperly identified, or a method improperly done, it is possible damage may result.
We have “Stone and Tile Installation Experience” – This is important for two reasons. One: Determining if a process will cause any issue with your installation. Two: If a situation should occur during any process you have the experience and knowledge of a company to resolve that issue.
Protective Sealers: There are endless sealers marketed for Stone, Tile, and Grout; however, not are all created equal. To say one is applying a penetrating sealer is not saying much at all. You want a sealer that is made specifically for your material and that is effective. Yes, it may cost a bit more, yet, if you apply an ineffective sealer, and apply it incorrectly, you have unfortunately wasted your money altogether. SD Stone Care uses only high grade sealers used specifically for Stone Tile and Grout.

We understand that Stone, Tile and Grout need far different attention than carpet which is why we price our projects by the job… not by the square foot. Square foot pricing limits the time a technician can dedicate to accomplish the most thorough Process. However, we do understand everyone has a certain budget which is why we offer “Packages” designed with each client’s needs and economics.
SD Stone Care services all Natural Stones, Tiles and Grout. We also service all areas of your home; floors, showers, counters, fireplaces, etc. Many carpet cleaning companies will “only clean” your floors, more money is made with floors than showers and counters, as well more experience is needed for these areas. Additionally, many natural stones need more than just a cleaning to improve their appearance, IE. Travertine.
SD Stone Cares “Cleaning Process” is far more than spaying the floor with a low price cleaning product and then immediately vacuuming up. Our process involves; spraying floor with a cleaner made especially for the material we are working on (not all cleaners are created equal), allow to sit for 15 –minutes (important step), scrubbed with a floor machine, then high pressure and heat rinse…leaving you Stone, Tile and Grout as clean as is physically possible without replacing it.
It “may appear” they are experience because they have similar looking Equipment; however, what is their Knowledge, Experience and Training The last thing any of us want is to have our homes and Stone, Tile and Grout investments used for gaining experience.
As mentioned in our “knowledge section” SD Stone Care has over 20 years industry experience. We have, and continue to attend Training Seminars of several days that have been developed by Stone, Tile and Grout Industry Experts. What type of Training has been received by the Company you are considering for your Stone, Tile and Grout Services?

I am seeing a trend that is very concerning to me as a Professional Natural Stone, Tile, and Grout Restoration and Care Company.
There are many companies and organizations offering one or two day training seminars, which is a good start.
However, in my opinion, many of these types of seminars (which I have attended) focus too much on selling products and equipment and offer, in most cases, just the most basic of information. I believe much more is needed in order to be a successful Natural Stone, Tile and Grout Care Company and offer my services to any company that would desire SDSC assistance for further education.
SD Stone Care has had a continuing education program over the past 20 years, not just in Care and Maintenance, but a wider scope of; Stone and Tile Installation, working with the R&D and Technical Department of major manufactures of Installations Materials and Stone Material Suppliers.
SD Stone Care has attended several Stone, Tile and Grout Industry hosted seminars over the years; Custom Building Products, Aqua-Mix, Miracle Sealants, Brightstone, Inc. Tile Counsel of North America, TCAA, NTCA, San Diego and Arizona TCA, as well as yearly classes and seminars at two noted industry trade shows; Stone Expo and Surfaces Show, In addition we have attended Tom McNall – Board Member of the Marble Institute of America, Restoration Seminars, and of course we are a members of or work with these organizations. These organizations are specializing in Stone, Tile, and Grout.
Finally – SD Stone Care also has a Training Program whose main objective is to offer detailed, continuous, and up to date restoration, care and maintenance for any company desiring to expand their services.
